CANX - H.O.G. Chapter Ride - BBQ on the Mountain Fork

As much as we tried to keep this from happening, the ride to New Market BBQ has been canceled due to weather. All week long the forecast was for light rain on Saturday, and we were going to just go with it and ride anyway. Unfortuntaley, the forecast has deteriorated all day today (Friday). We've checked the forecast every few hours, and each time we checked it got worse. It now calls for moderate rain, becoming heavier and ultimately developing into thrunderstoms with the potential for severe weather before the end of the ride.

Considering all of the above as well as the worsening trend of the forecast, we've decided discretion is the better option and we will look to reschedule this ride on another day down the road.

IMPORTANT: If you have pre-ordered food from New Market BBQ for Saturday's ride, you will need to cancel your order asap or plan to make arrangements to pick it up around 11:00 as originally planned. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause!

For this ride, we're planning to run small roads to get there and will run Winchester and I-565 to return to RHD. The weather is currently looking rainy on Saturday. However, since the route will be on lightly-traveled, flat county roads, Chuck P. is planning to lead the ride, even if it'll be rainy. If the conditions turn severe, then he will re-evaluate.  Please continue to monitor this site for additional updates (if any).

Chapter Members!

Come join RC's Chuck P. & Bob G. for a backroads ride from the RHD Dealership to New Market BBQ, which sits adjacent to the Mountain Fork River! 

The ride will be approximate 1 hour, each way, working small roads up through Harvest, Grimwood Rd across Hwy 231/431, and a series of winding country roads to arrive at New Market for nice maw-n-paw BBQ lunch.  The return route will be Winchester Road to I-565 to RHD.

PLEASE NOTE:  To facilitate the preparation of the food orders for our group, New Market BBQ has requested that our individual orders be placed in advance via their website, at https://www.newmarketbbq.com/ or https://togoorder.com/web/5228#/.  

On the order form, use the Comment Field to say "Redstone Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Group, June 01, 11 am."

Placing orders in advance of Saturday is recommended, and will help them to prepare our orders, and for us to get and eat our food more quickly, so that we can continue our post-lunch ride.

The primary destination for the ride is the New Market BBQ and ride pins will be distributed there.  After lunch, the ride will return to RHD, for those who choose to ride back to the dealership.  Return ETA at RHD is approximately 1400. 

Stage at RHD at 9:30am.  We'll do the pre-ride brief (PRB) at 9:45am. KSU at 10am!

Open Event: This event is open to Chapter members, National H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.  All riders and passengers must sign a release. 

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends, and the individual HOG member.  Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior.  Redstone Chapter #4052 requests you “think before you drink” with the above in mind and refrain from consuming any number of impairment drinks that total more than the number of wheels you are on.  Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride.

Photography Policy: Photographing, filming, recording and videotaping of activities and events will be occurring Redstone Chapter events. By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
